Lights INSTALLATION TEAM LEAD

OFFICE LOCATION- Asheville, NC

YOUR POSITION WITH WINTER STAR

Full time, Permanent

The Winter Star Crew Lead will oversee and be a part of teams of 2-4 to implement lighting projects throughout western North Carolina. They will be assigned to a variety of jobs, both residential and commercial in location. Will assist the operations manager with keeping accurate records and documentation, promoting job worksite safety, providing excellent customer service, and exhibiting pride and quality workmanship.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Crew Lead will oversee members of the installation crew and be hired for a full time, year round position. Tasks will include initial jobsite set up and planning, crew instruction and delegation for installation, based on each individual job site and type. Able to give clear and concise instructions for each crew member while taking into consideration each crew member's skill set and area of expertise. Training provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE

Always represent the company’s best interest while maintaining the highest level of integrity and professionalism.  

  • Ensure safe work practices and environment. 

  • Maintain and care for company equipment, tools and vehicles. 

  • Maintain a clean and orderly job site and appropriately stock equipment.

  • Must be willing to and able to manage and instruct the team to produce an excellent and profitable product in absence of the Operations Manager.

  • Assist with teaching and training team members to ensure proper procedures and processes are followed and ensure quality of work is achieved.

  • Assist with all directing, overseeing and participating in all aspects of lights installation.

  • Ability to perform heavy physical work in variable weather conditions, at various locations, on difficult and potentially hazardous terrain, and under physically demanding circumstances. 

  • Understand and meet production and project schedule deadlines without sacrificing great customer service or excellent quality.

  • Maintain accurate records of project documentation, work time, expenses, etc. and submit reports weekly. 

  • Ensure the jobsite tasks are completed according to the project schedule and planned design.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a valid drivers license.

  • Experience operating various sizes of ladders and types of equipment.

  • Must be self-motivated and possess strong leadership skills. 

  • Must be professional in appearance and action.

  • Must be detail oriented and quality driven.

  • Must be well organized with strong communication skills and ability to multitask.

  • Must have the ability to think proactively, plan ahead and problem solve assisting the Operations Manager to keep projects on-task, within budget and on-time. 

  • Absolute essential ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • In the absence of the Operations Manager, or as instructed, must take ownership of the team, their work, and complete satisfaction of the customer.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years experience in a leadership role or equivalent.

  • Previous experience in construction, roofing, rigging or other related service based industry.

  • An understanding and respect of electricity.

  • Background in Climbing or working at height.

  • Commitment to the principles of integrity, timeliness, and safety.

ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION

Winter Star offers paid training, workers compensation, and liability coverage for this W2 position. Crew members are paid every two weeks based on experience. Raises available immediately (within 48 hours) based on performance reviews by crew lead and project manager. Seasonal bonuses for contractors who remain committed through the entire season. Crew lunch provided some days, birds eye views and the opportunity to spread cheer with a super team.

SALARY INFORMATION

Base hourly compensation will begin at $25 an hour, depending on results of training and previous experience. Raises above this rate are available immediately based on performance reviews.

Holiday Lights Crew Member

YOUR POSITION WITH WINTER STAR

Full time-TEMPORARY

Individuals will be organized into teams of 2-4 and be assigned to a variety of jobs, both residential and commercial in location. Crew Members will have flexibility for project timeframes and will be utilized during times of the season they are available. It is not expected that crew members must always be available for every project.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Crew Members will be members of the Asheville, NC area installation crew and hired for a 3-month maximum term from October 15-January 31. Tasks will include job site preparation, lights installation as well as equipment maintenance, removal of lights postseason, storage, and job site clean-up.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE

●      Perform tasks under the supervision of the Crew Lead.  

●      Ensure safe work practices and environment. 

●      Assist with all aspects of lights installation with extreme attention to detail.

●      Maintain assigned equipment. 

●      Maintain accurate records of work time, expenses, etc. and submit reports daily. 

●      Work as a team player.

●      Operate leaf blowers, extension ladders, cordless drills and possess the ability to learn additional tools or equipment as needed. 

●      Ability to perform heavy physical work in variable weather conditions, at various locations, on difficult and potentially hazardous terrain, and under physically demanding circumstances.

●      Must have reliable transportation. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 ●      Availability between October 15-Dec 20 and from January 2nd-31st, days flexible.

●      High school diploma or equivalent.

●      Be prepared mentally to perform necessary tasks required, possess an ability to think outside the box and be a team player.

●      Be prepared physically to carry potentially heavy loads and maneuver ladders safely and efficiently around the jobsite.

●      Be punctual and maintain a “can do” attitude throughout the workday.

●      Able to listen to and carry out direct instruction from crew lead.

●      Ability to prioritize and execute job site tasks as set by crew lead.

●      Ability to work up to 10-13 hours daily.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 ●      6 months of related experience

●      Experience operating various sizes of ladders and types of equipment.

●      Previous experience in construction, roofing or rigging.

●      An understanding and respect of electricity.

●      Background in Climbing or working at height.

●      Ability and willingness to follow instructions from colleagues.

●      Commitment to the principles of integrity, timeliness, and safety.
